Water Fun!
Happenings for this last week: Monday we had a great family home evening. The lesson was on "Love at Home" and "Be ye kind one to another". We began with a game called sacrifices to learn what things are most important to us. (scriptures, freedom, food, pets, testimony, dentists, etc. etc...Sometimes we get caught up in everyday living and forget what is really important to us. We treat our friends with more respect than we treat our families, we place more importance on schoolwork or a job than we do on our families, or we spend more time thinking about food or money than we do our own families. We read the story of Abraham and Issac. We then went around the room and talked about what we liked/loved about each other and then we drew names for secret pals for the whole week. There were so many thoughtful things done for everyone. This was really fun to see what everyone would come up with each day to serve each other. We had treats made, pictures drawn, beds made, laundry folded, small gifts given. I think we may do this again. There seemed to be peace and lots of thoughtful kindness.
Tuesday brought some budding chefs that actually carried on through Friday. Madison made some amazing snicker doodles on tuesday, homemade crescent rolls wednesday, and a homemade apricot/pineapple pie for thursday. Yummy! Brooklon and Maron also decided to try there hand at cooking. Brooklon made a awesome 4th of July jello mold. Scrumpchy! Maron made the best orange cookies. (We've included pictures. They did'nt just taste and smell awewsome, they looked awesome too) Watch out Rachel Rae for our Madison, Brooklon and Maron Wray.-- I almost forgot to mention our sweet water fight on tuesday. I think I still have a river in my ears. It was fun to be a kid again and get a little or actually a lot wet. Our pictures don't really do it justice and I think our camera man might have been laughing a little too hard. The 4th was simple, relaxing, and yet fun. We had a bbq with family, sparklers, and sat out front and watched the fireworks up above done by the fire department at the nearby junior high. I have to say I love my family. I love spending time together. Summer has really been fun. We hope you have all had a great 4th of July.
